Newton Hall Wedding Photos | Karen & Phil

Karen & Phil’s Newton Hall wedding photos included a trip to a nearby beach for champagne celebrations. I knew in the morning this was going to be a special day.  Karen and her bridesmaids chose to get ready at a lovely little holiday cottage close to Newton Hall named Driftwood Cottage. The weather wasn't bad considering it was early April. The sky looked pretty menacing but it was dry, and for the North East coast this is considered a bonus.

This isn't the first time I've photographed a wedding at Newton Hall, but what I like about this venue is that no two weddings are the same. The options for wedding photography are amazing. Being  a documentary wedding photographer I tend to focus on the wider story. If I can tell multiple stories within one picture then my couples get to enjoy more of their day. That said, I also find myself photographing a lot more details at Newton Hall weddings because there’s so many to capture.

The beach near Newton Hall is a perfect mid wedding escape!

One thing Newton Hall couples have in common is that most of them (weather permitting) take a trip to the beach for some photographs. It's a truly gorgeous stretch of coastline and always a nice opportunity to take some time away from guests and relax albeit for a short while only. Phil being the romantic doctor effortlessly whisked Karen up in his arms and walked her down to the beach! Phil took a wrong turn and in the heat of the moment, I followed!

As a result, we ended up at the top of a sand dune looking onto the beach. We took the opportunity to catch a few portraits with that threatening sky. Phil almost dropped his new bride down a sand dune. I have the photograph to prove this!  Selfishly, I carried on photographing rather than reaching out to catch her. Don't think bad of me as I knew deep down Phil had full control.

Looking for a photographer for your own Newton Hall wedding?

If you're looking for Newton Hall wedding photos of your own, then it’s always good to look at a few sets of wedding photographs taken at the venue to get a good idea of styles of photographers. You may even pick up a few ideas for your own wedding whilst browsing through. One of the great things about Newton Hall is that you can opt for an outdoor wedding Newton Hall too. I’ve included this link to show you what an outdoor ceremony looks like.

Lastly, I always recommend speaking with a few photographers and not just one. Take into account you’ll be spending the day with him or her so it helps if you get on. If you’d like to have a catch up or check your date is free with me, then I’d love for you to get in touch.
