Left Bank Leeds Wedding Photos | Ellie & Suhayl
Follow along with Ellie & Suhayl’s Left Bank Leeds wedding photos, captured on a crisp Autumn day in September. Our day started at The Met Hotel in Leeds where Ellie and her bridesmaids got ready before a short drive to her ceremony at Leeds Civic Hall.
This was no ordinary wedding, along for the journey was a beautiful little bump (baby due in November!) which made it extra special for Ellie & Suhayl. As Ellie got ready I couldn’t help but cast my mind back to my very own wedding where my wife and I had a bump of our own that came along to our wedding!
Heidi, our daughter is now 15 and knowing how special the occasion was to us, I made sure to capture a few lovely moments for Ellie in her wedding dress. Looking radiant, she stood in the most beautiful window light which really worked well with her baby bump for a few special portraits.
Leeds Civic Hall Wedding Ceremony
Just a short drive from the hotel is Leeds Civic Hall, built in 1930, the Grade II listed building is located in the Civic Quarter of Leeds. The building is stunning, testament to architect Vincent Harris who designed several important public buildings in traditional styles.
On a Saturday it’s quite the hive of activity and lots of couples opt for a Leeds Civic Hall wedding ceremony. Hardly surprising as the venue is stunning and the staff and registrars do a wonderful job here. The service was very special and intimate, with Ellie & Suhayl’s close family and friends in attendance. We captured a few formal photographs outside the venue, and whilst their guests made their way to the Left Bank, we stayed to do a few couple portraits.
The light was gorgeous, and Ellie & Suhayl’s cleverly coordinated clothing choices really brought with it the Autumn vibes.
Left Bank Leeds - A beautiful Grade II former church
I’m always excited when it’s my first time shooting at a new venue. I’d dropped in to say hello to the staff and got myself familiar with the layout. It’s such a quirky venue, a place for community, creativity and culture. The architecture was stunning and the light coming through the former church windows cast warm colourful shadows on the floor and walls inside. Draped curtains, colourful lanterns, beautiful lights, this wedding venue is really something special.
A special mention for Ellie & Suhayl, a more lovely couple you will not meet. It truly was a pleasure to spend the day with you. From the moment we chatted online prior to you booking me, I knew we were a great fit and you both made me feel so welcome on the day. Suhayl, to this day your beloved Leeds United are still up there in the table, I wish you many more victories! To you both, I hope November is even more special than September, I’m following you on your socials and can’t wait to hear the news!
As for the rest of your amazing wedding, I’ll let your Left Bank Leeds wedding photos tell the story. It was such a laid back day, yet seemed to fly by so quickly!
