Paxton House Wedding Photography | Joanna & James
I had the pleasure of covering Paxton House wedding photography for Joanna & James followed by a beautiful marquee reception on their farm in Northumberland.
Deja vu - the phenomenon of having the strong sensation that an event or experience currently being experienced has been experienced in the past, whether it has happened or not. So, how can this be? I give you Joanna and James.
Joanna being the younger sister of Katherine who's wedding to Craig I photographed on the farm back in 2011. I love this family, and felt really honoured to be invited back to document the wedding of Joanna and James. Barry & Ann, Joanna & Katherine’s parents, are the salt of the earth. Warm, welcoming, generous, fun, hard working - the list goes on. The amount of work they put in to both weddings is phenomenal, hats off to them. As for the rest of their friends and family, a lot of farmers in there who know how to party.
A wedding ceremony in The Picture Gallery at Paxton House - Home of Romance
Paxton House is one of the most beautiful unaltered Georgian houses in Britain today. Passing through those gates and you’ll find yourself in a very secluded, private and extremely picturesque setting, perfect for a wedding! The venue is nestled above the world famous River Tweed, known for it’s salmon and fly fishing. The border town of Berwick upon Tweed is only a short drive away so coming to Paxton House by car, bus or train is very easy.
Joanna & James chose the magnificent Picture Gallery as the setting for their wedding ceremony. The room is simply stunning and certainly a space I won’t forget in a hurry. Capable of holding 120 guests it’s an ideal room for ceremonies, drinks receptions, dining and the evening party. The sun shone for us and after their ceremony, drinks were served outside on the steps overlooking the lawn. We did a few photographs of the entire wedding party before Joanna & James were whisked off to her parent’s farm for the rest of the day.
Once back at the farm, there was a marquee at the side of the farmhouse, complete with a huge pond and water feature, surrounded by an array of colourful flowers. It was certainly a most impressive setting. Joanna’s parents had been working tirelessly to ensure the grounds were looking beautiful, much like they’d done previously for Katherine & Craig’s wedding previously.
